Very thoughtful piece. Thank you. There is a lot of danger in value-based care models. These models create a disincentive to take care of high-risk patients. In my speciality of Obgyn, I can see where some doctors may avoid obese patients, diabetics, or women over 35 as these patients have a higher c section rate which would tank their VBC numbers.

That is just one simple example of how these well-intended systems can go wrong.
